Daxo invests significant time and resources into continually developing new technology. Currently, our team is busy building an Al-assisted robotic harvesting machine called AutoZapper, planned for commercial trials for the Northern Hemisphere harvest in 2025. We have a passion for helping farmers manage labor challenges to help ensure our farmers can bring us high quality fruit for many more generations.

Co-founder & CEO
Tom grew up on a family orchard, enjoying fresh apples, pears, apricots, and peaches while developing a passion for problem-solving. This drive led him to earn a PhD in Computer and Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science from Cornell. He previously worked at iRobot, Uber ATG, and Rapyuta Robotics before founding Daxo Industries.
Co-founder & VP Agriculture
Leighton is the VP of Quality at Rice Fruit Company. He oversees one of the largest packaging and storage facility for apples in the eastern US. Leighton has twenty years of experience in the apple industry. In addition, he is the inventor of StemPunk, a stem-clipping device for apple pickers.
Head of Commercial
Mario is a technical sales professional with 2 decades working in the fresh produce space with growers, shippers, importers and retailers across multiple countries and commodities including berries, pome fruit, stone fruit, kiwifruit, citrus and avocados. BA from Tufts University and Master’s in Agriculture from Kansas State.
Mechanical Engineer
Preston is a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience bringing robotics products to market at startups and Boston Dynamics. His grandparents owned a commercial apple orchard and Preston is excited to be developing products for an industry he is passionate about.
Mechatronics Engineer
Ashwath is a Mechatronics Engineer with a background in developing control systems for brain computer interface chips the size of a penny. With experience working for several startups and research labs, he wishes to see his products make a change in the real world. He holds a bachelor’s degree from IIT Madras and a master’s degree from University of Pennsylvania.
Research Scientist
Haoyun is a roboticist with both research and software engineering expertise. For over five years in the autonomous driving industry, he built planning and control systems at Waymo, TuSimple, and Motional. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a master’s degree from UC Berkeley.
